About Wendy Westerbeke

I am a contemporary abstract painter who has forged a life anchored by my connection to Westerbeke Ranch - an 11-acre expanse of unspoiled beauty outside of Sonoma, CA.

My authentic, captivating work reflects the timeless mystique of the western countryside.  My passion for color is revealed in my interpretations of the region's natural beauty - from mountains, forests, rivers, valleys, and meadows, to the Pacific Ocean coastline.

What People Are Saying

"With ties to the Ranch now five generations strong, the Westerbekes are a rare dynastic family in the valley without a vineyard. Influenced deeply by her grandmother and her late mother, Wendy follows in their formidable footsteps, both literally and figuratively. Like them, she is a woman of vision, spirit, grace, and creativity who generously and effortlessly draws others into her sphere, helping to instill life lessons and ensure singular experiences."

-Mary Gilbert, Renaissance Women of Westerbeke Ranch

Born in mid-century California and raised on the edge of Mt. Tamalpais, I spent my summers amidst the vineyards and rolling hills of Sonoma. My upbringing in this picturesque environment instilled in me a deep appreciation for art, design, and the joy of bringing people together. This passion led me to transform my family's heritage property into a retreat center, known today as Westerbeke Ranch.

I pursued a degree in Art Therapy channeling my creativity into helping others through the healing power of art. My work as an artist is characterized by abstract, lyrical, colorful, and spontaneous creations that reflect my vibrant spirit and the beauty of my surroundings.

I have been fortunate to have homes in both Sonoma and Santa Fe, where my love for interior design flourishes. My art studios in these locations are filled with my expressive paintings, and I take great pleasure in sharing my homes with visitors. Recently, I completed a guest house studio in a historic part of Santa Fe, close to the plaza, inviting even more opportunities to connect and create.

"When I enter my home through the back door, the first thing I see is Wendy's painting.  I like to think she painted it just for this wall and just for me."
